Letter to parents 4.1.21

4th January 2021

Dear Parents/ Carers,

I am writing to you following the announcement this evening from the Prime Minister that schools will be closed for most children from tomorrow morning. All staff were looking forward to welcoming our families back into school and the speed that the decision has taken place has come as a surprise to us all.

From tomorrow morning we will be open for vulnerable pupils and the children of critical workers only. It would be helpful if you could let us know if you will be sending your child into school tomorrow by emailing Mrs Wandless (head@godolphin.cornwall.sch.uk) and Mrs Nicholas (secretary@garras.cornwall.sch.uk). If you are planning on sending your child(ren) in tomorrow please can you send them in with a packed lunch as we are currently unsure if we are able to provide a school dinner.

Going forward, we will be asking parents of these children to book the sessions you will require. We will send further information about how to do this tomorrow.

Below is a link to the Government website outlining the list of critical workers and vulnerable children who can access schools or educational settings:

This guidance has been updated to include information about the return to school and college in January, and includes the addition of those whose work is critical to EU Transition to the list of ...

As teachers were planning for children to come into school tomorrow they will need the morning to adapt their planning for remote learning which will be available on the Google Classrooms by lunchtime.

If you need support or have difficulties accessing Google Classroom please can you email or call the school office tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, please bear with us and further information will follow.

 Kind regards

Lucy Wandless
