Latest Update

FROGS will be hosting an Easter Egg hunt for the school children on Wednesday 29th March from 2.30pm at school (hopefully outside!).  We will also have a 'name the cuddly toy' game, raffle and a cake stall.  Please pop along a little earlier than normal pick-up time on this day to treat yourselves to some delicious cakey treats etc!  If you can't make it but would like to give your child a little money to spend, the prices will be approximately 50p per cake, 20p for name the teddy and £1. strip for the raffle.

Donations for cakes would be gratefully received for the cake stall. Please leave hem in the school office or quiet room by the morning of Wednesday 29th March!

 Many thanks,

In view of the new building plans at Garras School, as you know, FROGS have had to hold off moving forward with the outside play equipment project.  We are conscious that all the money which you have helped us raise over time needs to be spent on things for the children rather than sat in the FROGS bank account and for that reason, whilst waiting to move forward with the playground project we have purchased a few items which the teachers need, these are as follows:

Hawk & Eagle Owls Painting Aprons (with sleeves!!)

Barn Owls

Bamboo Building Bricks for Reception

Magnetic Cursive Letters for Reception

Painting Aprons

With regards to the playground project, two members of FROGS visited Sithney School on Thursday 28th January to take a look at the new outside play equipment recently installed in their playground.   FROGS are holding a ‘site’ meeting with Mrs Evans and Mr Birchall on Tuesday 2nd February at 2.30pm at Garras to discuss the possible options for our new play equipment.  We will be in the playground from 2.30pm so if you would like to come along and be involved with the discussions then please feel free to join us.  Once we have a better idea of what is possible we would like to create a picture gallery of options so that the children can be involved with the decision making.  A date for this will be confirmed.  This is quite a long process and we want to get it right so please bear with us and if you wish to get more involved you would be welcome to join in our meetings.

A general FROGS meeting will be planned soon, we are just arranging a date which will hopefully be before half term so look out for it in the newsletter!

** Garras School Playground Project Phase 2 **

FROGS would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who voted for our project in the 2015 Cornwall Community Cashback scheme run by the West Briton and Devon and Cornwall Police.  We obtained enough votes to be successful in securing the full £500.00 we applied for which is absolutely fantastic!  This will be added to other fundraising with the intention of securing new play equipment for the children at our wonderful local community school.  Thank you again for taking the time to support us!!
