Geevor Trip 6th June 2016

Dear Parents

Hawk Owls Visit to Geevor Mine 6th June 2016

As part of our History this term, Hawk Owls are looking at the Levant Mine disaster, as well as Science work on Rocks and Minerals, we have arranged an educational visit to Geevor Mine.

The trip will take place on Monday 6th June 2016. We will use the minibus and teachers’ cars for the trip. We will leave around 10am and return to school at 4pm. We would love to have the children dressed up for the day as miners or bal maidens! In light of the school photo booked for the morning, could we ask that the children come to school in their school uniform? They would then change into their costumes for the trip.

If your child suffers from travel sickness please ensure any medication required is labelled and handed in to your child’s class teacher for safe keeping.

Can we please ask for a voluntary contribution towards a workshop on the day of £4.95 per pupil?

We have also arranged for the children to have a pasty on the day costing £3.40 each, either steak, veg, or cheese and veg. Could you please contact the office with your pasty orders, and any payments, by Friday 27th May? If your child does not want a pasty, they will need to bring a packed lunch.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.
