Community Cashback Awards evening

18th March 2014
On behalf of Garras Primary School, the children, parents, governors and staff would like to thank everyone who voted for their 'playground project' in the recent Cornwall Community Cashback funding applications featured and run in the West Briton and Cornishman newspapers. FROGS were delighted that Garras School had been selected as one of the winners and secured the whole £500.00 for which they applied for. After various consultations with the children, parents and staff it was clear to FROGS that their focus had to be on bringing back to life a very plain, tired looking playground, which is in stark contrast to the exciting school learning environment the children enjoy inside the classroom!  The re-vamped playground project was born and plans for bright new markings, colours and games are well under way to help turn this playground area into a fun, exciting and colourful environment for the children.  Members of FROGS joined other successful organisations at an awards ceremony at Tregenna Castle, St Ives on Monday 17th March and were delighted to receive their certificate which will be displayed inside the school.
