Bristol 21st March
Visit to Bristol – Monday 21st March 2016
To round off our topic of Snot, Bugs and Inside Bits this term, we have arranged an educational visit to the Bristol Science Centre for all KS2 pupils at Sithney and Garras.
The trip will take place on Monday 21st March, with the bus leaving from Tesco in Helston at 7.30am, and returning to Tesco at 8pm. We appreciate this will be a long day but we wish to maximise the time at the Centre as it is such a long way to go.
The children need to wear school uniform and will require 2 packed lunches: one for lunch time and one for the journey home. If your child suffers from travel sickness please ensure any medication required is labelled and handed in to your child’s class teacher for safe keeping.
We have all become very used to the benefits of our minibuses. In fact, over the last year we have ventured off site more than ever before, yet we have carried the full cost of these arrangements despite the minibuses costing £400 each per month, plus petrol and training costs for drivers. Both schools have enjoyed healthy budgets and we have been able to prevent passing these costs on to you. I know you will be very appreciative of this.
On this occasion we needed a coach and the best ‘per pupil’ cost we could establish was £24.00; reduced by the fact that both schools are travelling together. Furthermore, both FOSS and FROGS have agreed to help reduce these costs further by making a contribution. This means the final cost will be £18.00. I know we can only ask for a voluntary contribution towards all educational trips, but I must point out that if insufficient funds are received, then the trip will simply not be viable. We require all monies to be in by Friday 11th March.
We are satisfied that this trip represents excellent value for money and we ask you support the staff’s decision to plan this exciting visit.
Please get in touch if you have any questions.
